School Nursing Program

Most parents and administrators are grateful for the presence of a nurse in their school system, but too few are unaware that the school nurse is a vital necessity in keeping our nation's children healthy and safe.

Public Health Registered Nurses, Dental Hygienists, or Health Educators provide education, health screenings and technical advice to children and teachers in contracting school districts.

Services Provided may include:

  • Visionchild studying
  • Scoliosis
  • Maturation (growth & development)
  • Fluoride Varnish Applications and Dental Sealants
  • Dental Screening
  • Dental Education Classes
  • Health Education Presentations
  • Tobacco Prevention
  • Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention
  • Asthma Prevention and Control
  • Consultation, training, and resource referral to school district personnel related to areas of communicable disease, blood borne pathogens, student illnesses, and head lice as well as other services offered by Eastern Idaho Public Health.
