What is Freedom From Smoking?
The Freedom From Smoking program encourages participants to work on how to quit smoking. This is accomplished through pharmacological and psychological principles and other methods shown to help tobacco users gain control over their behavior and end their addiction. Freedom From Smoking focuses on:

  • Assertive communicationfreedom
  • Coping Skills
  • Proper use of smoking cessation medications
  • Building and maintaining motivation
  • Nicotine addiction
  • Physical activity
  • Recovery and grief
  • Relapse and prevention
  • Self-monitoring
  • Social support
  • Stress management
  • Weight management
Benefits of Freedom From Smoking:
  • Experience both immediate and long-term health benefits.
  • Learn to address and overcome the physical, mental and social aspects of their addiction.
  • Individuals are six times more likely to be smoke-free one year later than those who quit on their own.
  • When used in combination with smoking cessation medication, up to 60 percent of Freedom From Smoking participants report having quit smoking by the end of the program.

What is NOT on Tobacco?
NOT on Tobacco is a smoking cessation program for teens who are ready to quit smoking. The program is ran by individuals who have been certified through the American Lung Association. This program helps you develop a plan to quit smoking for good. You will also receive the necessary support to keep you smoke-free for good. NOT on Tobacco focuses on:

  • Quitting smoking.NOT
  • Reducing the number of cigarettes smoked per day by those who are unable to quit.
  • Increasing healthy lifestyle choices in the areas of physical activity and nutrition.
  • Enhancing a sense of self-control and not letting smoking control you.
  • Improving life skills such as stress management, decision making, coping, and interpersonal skills.

What are the Benefits of NOT on Tobacco?

  • It has among the highest quit rates of programs designed to help teens quit smoking.
  • Based on more than 10 years of research and training.
  • Almost 97% of participants said they liked the NOT on Tobacco program.
  • 87% felt that being in a group was helpful in trying to quit smoking.
  • NOT on Tobacco participants were twice as likely to quit smoking than teens who received just advice and brochures.
  • Teens who quit smoking through this program were still smoke-free for at least 18 months after the program ended.
