Clinical Assistant, Bilingual (Spanish)

EIPH currently has an opening for a full-time Bilingual (Spanish) Clinical Assistant in the Nutrition/WIC Division.
Position:  Clinical Assistant, Bilingual (Spanish)
Hours: M-F, 8-5

Starting Salary: $11.88 per hour + dependent on education and experience

  • Provides direct customer service on the telephone or in person as a primary part of the job.
  • Performs paraprofessional clinical duties; establishes and maintains client records, gathers client data and provides health and community program resource information to clients.
  • Interviews clients to obtain and document detailed personal data including health and dietary information.
  • Explains services and programs, determines client eligibility, and uses information to establish need and adapt services for clients.
  • Sets up and maintains WIC clinic area.
  • Obtains, processes and documents hemoglobin results.
  • Describes program requirements, client rights, and obligations.
  • Provides health and nutrition information to groups and individuals using professionally prepared materials.
  • Distributes program outreach materials.
  • Contacts clients about program services.
  • Inputs data into multiple computer programs.


  • Must be able to speak, read and write both English and Spanish fluently.
  • Knowledge of health and nutritional needs of adults and children.
  • Experience: Interviewing and asking detailed questions; recording information accurately and legibly; adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
