Eastern Idaho Public Health is a full time individual to be a part of a team offering Parents As Teachers (PAT) Home Visiting Services to pregnant women, infants, and children to age 5.

This is an exciting public health opportunity for a Social Worker, Registered Nurse, Health Educator, or Child Developmental Specialist to impact families and communities in a positive way!

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday,

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide culturally sensitive interventions and screenings, mainly in the home setting, with families enrolled in the Parents as Teachers model, targeting pregnant women, infants and children to 5 years.
  • Administer and score assessments of children and families
  • Document client interactions and compile data for reports
  • Assist families with transition to other services
  • Direct group education sessions
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Exceptional Child Certificate with Special Education Early childhood Special Education Endorsement or an Elementary Education Certificate (K-12) with Early Childhood Special Education Endorsement or Blended Early childhood/ Early Childhood Special Education Certificate; OR:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in one of the following closely related fields: special education, elementary education, speech-language pathology, early childhood education, physical therapy, psychology, social work, or nursing AND a minimum of 24 credits in courses that address the Early Childhood Special Education standards; OR:
  • A college degree in one of the previously described closely related fields and agreement and reasonable ability to complete a minimum of 24 credits with content in required ECSE standards with three years.
  • Must have a valid Idaho driver’s license Must pass a background check prior to employment.
  • Must pass a background check prior to employment.

Preferred:

  • Strong Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to establish rapport with families and empower them by building on their strengths.
  • Strong organizational record keeping skills.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
  • Computer skills.
