In recognition of Children's Mental Health Awareness Week, the Children's Mental Health subbocommittee of the Region 7 Behavioral Health Board is coordinating a variety of awareness activities in Idaho Falls.

May 4 & 5: Professional Education Conference

This conference will feature a variety of educational opportunities for professionals to increase their knowledges in children's mental health issues. Two hours of ethics training is also included as well as panel discussions.

Cost is $25, includes 8.5 CEUs and lunch on Thursday.

Members of the National Association of Social Work receive a discount on the registration fee.

Friday, May 5: Viewing of Paper Tigers - sponsored by Optum

OPTUM Idaho will be sponsoring the opportunity to view Paper Tigers, a documentary of LIcoln Alternative High School in Walla Walla, Washington, by James Redford. A professional panel discussion will conclude this evening.

Saturday, May 6: Poster Contest Viewing, Prizes, & Live Entertainment

The Idaho Falls Public Library will host the Idaho Federation of Families' "Keep the ball rolling" poster and photo contest from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm; prizes up to $100.00 will be awarded at 2:00 pm in the Community Conference Room in the lobby of the library.

Saturday afternoon at the park will be the place to hear live music to conclude the Children Mental Health Awareness events. Band genre could include Contemporary, Latin, and Country Western. Fun for the entire family!
